Kajetan Kajetanowicz and Maciej Szczepaniak have contested five WRC-2 rounds of this year’s World Rally Championship. Now it is time for the Wales Rally GB and their first outing in this event.
The 2019 Wales Rally GB takes place on 3rd-6th October (Thursday to Sunday). The stages are extremely diversified when it comes to grip levels and the route winds through hilly countryside, on gravel roads – often soaked with torrential rain.
– Our next event is Wales Rally GB. We have never contested this rally which makes it even more difficult for us. We do not know the roads so it will be an interesting surprise, very intriguing. We have no idea what to expect. For sure this rally will be very demanding. We face really tough opposition on the stages. Due to difficult weather conditions and heavy rainfall at this latitude, the visibility and grip will be poor. However, we will definitely try hard and do our best. Thanks to another podium scored in Turkey, we are leading the WRC-2 standings and we want to keep this position until the end of the championship
– Kajetan Kajetanowicz, triple European Rally Champion, said ahead of the rally.
The 2019 Wales Rally GB consists of 22 special stages, with combined length of around 310 competitive kilometres. Torrential downpours, frequent during this rally, make the roads very slippery and muddy. The crews have to cope with foggy conditions as well. Therefore it is crucial to stay focused, watch the road and maintain good car feeling.
There are just three rounds left in this year’s World Rally Championship calendar.
Starts of Kajetan Kajetanowicz are supported by strategic partner of the LOTOS Rally Team – Grupa LOTOS – as well as Delphi Technologies, Driving Experience and Pirelli.
