Kajetan Kajetanowicz and Maciej Szczepaniak came back from the Wales Rally just a dozen or so days ago, and they are already in for another rivalry. This time the LOTOS Rally Team will fight for points in Rally de España. The round in Catalonia is the only one in the season of the World Rally Championships held on a mixed surface.
The RallyRACC Catalunya will start on October 24th (Thursday) and will last until October 27th (Sunday). It is held on a mixed surface. The special sections consist of winding gravel and asphalt roads. Therefore, the choice of tyres will be of great importance here.
Moreover, RallyRACC Catalunya will be a great challenge not only for the crew, but also for the team, which after Friday’s stage will have only 75 minutes to rebuild the entire rally car from a gravel setting to asphalt. The following will be replaced: brake system, suspension of the vehicle, as well as some body parts.
– We aren’ t stopping, we’re moving on! This time we will take part in Rally de España. We took part in it a year ago, so we know what to expect. The surface of special stages is very varied, so we will have to skillfully adjust the tyres and the car’s position to the prevailing conditions. As always, we will do our best. My fans support me very much. We believe that we will be able to achieve success and stand on the podium
– said Kajetan Kajetanowicz, the three-time European Rally Champion.
RallyRACC Catalunya consists of 17 special stages with a total length of about 325 km. A frequent difficulty in this rally are dust clouds floating behind the cars, which greatly reduce visibility. As many as 19 WRC 2 crews entered the rally, including the first seven classification teams of the season. A difficult task ahead of the LOTOS Rally Team. Over 70 drivers took part in the entire 2019 WRC 2 season. In the RallyRACC Catalunya Kajetan Kajetanowicz will drive the Volkswagen Polo GTI R5 again.
Kajetan Kajetanowicz’s starts are supported by LOTOS Rally Team’s strategic partner – Grupa LOTOS, as well as Delphi Technologies, Driving Experience, and Pirelli.
