Kajetan Kajetanowicz and Maciej Szczepaniak enjoyed a great day in Rally Italia Sardegna. The ORLEN Rally Team crew got into proper rhythm after yesterday’s struggles and gained eight positions! The Polish duo earned a provisional top-three place in the WRC2 Challenger classification and ninth in the overall rally standings.
During the second loop of Saturday’s leg Kajetanowicz and Szczepaniak recorded third-, fourth- and second-fastest stage times in the WRC2 Challenger classification. On the final test they went fourth-fastest, despite a slow puncture. However, this time luck was on their side and the Polish duo hold third position ahead of the final day. The competition is very close and their opponents will not allow them a single moment of respite.
– It’s been a long Saturday, with over dozen hours in the car. I think we should be proud of ourselves. Our pace was decent today. I found better set-up, more adjusted to my driving style. My hands are a bit sore – it was really demanding with many stones, rocks, ruts and hits, so you had to hold your steering wheel tight. This is Rally Italia Sardegna. Now we need to catch some sleep, as plenty of work is still ahead

The final leg consists of two runs of special stages: SS13/15 Cala Flumini (12.55 kms) and SS14/16 Sassari-Argentiera (7.10 kms).
