The 2025 World Rally Championship season will conclude with the grand finale in Saudi Arabia. The ORLEN Rally Team crew of Kajetan Kajetanowicz and Maciej Szczepaniak are among those taking on a brand new gravel challenge.
Thanks to Kajetanowicz and Szczepaniak, Polish national colours are once again present in the world’s most important rally series this year. Kajetan and Maciek are competing in the WRC2 Challenger category, having completed six of the seven scheduled events. The ORLEN Rally Team duo scored points in almost every start and hold top-five position in the standings.
The 2023 WRC2 Challenger champions will conclude their 2025 campaign with Rally Saudi Arabia – visiting the Asian continent again but this time they will skip the competition in Japan. They have plenty of memories from the Land of the Rising Sun – this is where they celebrated their championship title two years ago and claimed their sixth consecutive top-three World Rally Championship finish less than twelve months ago. All those successes cannot be overshadowed by a serious accident which prematurely ended their hopes for the WRC2 title in 2022.
Rally Saudi Arabia is another new addition to this year’s world championship schedule, following events in Gran Canaria and Paraguay. The fourteenth and final round of the 2025 season is based in Jeddah, on the shore of the Red Sea. The crews will also visit the Jeddah Corniche Circuit, a famous Formula 1 venue.
We will conclude this year’s world championship campaign in Saudi Arabia. I considered another start in Rally Japan, which I am already familiar with, but two factors influenced my decision. We have spent the entire season so far on gravel and on loose surface I have already found a good feeling in my Toyota. Furthermore, we usually do a good job in events which are completely new to most competitors, so I have decided to focus on the final round of the 2025 World Rally Championship. For sure it will be a significant challenge, especially since little is known about the route at the moment – except that different legs might have different characteristics. We still have more than one month for our preparations ahead of the exciting showdown but I am already looking forward to the competition
– said Kajetan Kajetanowicz, the 2023 WRC2 Challenger champion.
The schedule of Rally Saudi Arabia consists of seventeen special stages. The organisers have promised a mix of challenging stages in the desert and picturesque mountains, resembling a lunar landscape. The planned competitive distance is nearly 320 kilometres. Rally Saudi Arabia will take place on 26-29 November, in an unusual format – from Wednesday to Saturday.
Starts of Kajetan Kajetanowicz are supported by the title partner of the ORLEN Rally Team – ORLEN S.A., as well as technical partner Delphi and ORLEN OIL.
