The record-breaking 3rd Poland Rally Legends has started, drawing attention of huge crowd of rally fans. Kajetan Kajetanowicz and Maciej Szczepaniak also join the competition. The ORLEN Rally Team crew will drive the highly anticipated Citroën C3 WRC.
In the final days of the summer holidays, Polanica-Zdrój undoubtedly took over the role of the rally capital of Poland. Crowds of fans invaded the Kłodzko Valley to watch their heroes competing on the iconic special stages and to admire rally cars from various chapters of motorsport history during third edition of the Poland Rally Legends.
The official opening ceremony took place on Thursday. Kajetan Kajetanowicz and Maciej Szczepaniak head the field with the prestigious number one. During this unique event, the ORLEN Rally Team crew compete in a Citroën C3 WRC, one of the fastest rally cars ever built. The C3 WRC was used by the factory team of the French manufacturer from 2017 to 2019 to compete for top goals in the World Rally Championship.
The Poland Rally Legends is not just a sporting competition, above all it is a major celebration of motorsport. The schedule, created with fans in mind and less intense than in the World or European Rally Championships, allows competitors to spend more time with their fans who, in turn, reward them for their time by creating an incredible atmosphere and setting for the event.
The official opening ceremony of the Poland Rally Legends is behind us. What I saw exceeded my wildest expectations. It is a real celebration of motorsport. Crowd of enthusiastic and passionate fans filled every inch in the centre of Polanica-Zdrój. The line of people before and after the starting ramp stretched several hundred meters. It seems that rallying in the country is in a great shape. All it needs is the right impulse to ignite this energy. I am looking forward to competition on the special stages
– admits Kajetan Kajetanowicz, Poland’s most successful rally driver.
Friday’s schedule includes three special stages and their results do not count towards the overall standings of the Poland Rally Legends. The crews will complete two runs of Radków (5 kms) and in the evening a super special stage is planned on the streets of Kłodzko, where the drivers’ main goal will be to please the fans with long and spectacular drifts. Saturday’s schedule includes nine special stages, including the legendary Spalona test.
Starts of Kajetan Kajetanowicz are supported by title partner of the ORLEN Rally Team – ORLEN S.A., as well as technical partner Delphi and ORLEN OIL.
