The 3rd Poland Rally Legends took place in hot atmosphere created by thousands of fans. With fast pace and spectacular driving, Kajetan Kajetanowicz and Maciej Szczepaniak won this year’s edition, entertaining the spectators with the Citroën C3 WRC fielded by the ORLEN Rally Team.
The Poland Rally Legends is an initiative of motorsport enthusiasts from the Auto Moto Klub Kłodzko. The event, held for the third time this year, quickly became one of the most important events in national motorsport and the 2026 edition broke popularity records.
Kajetan Kajetanowicz and Maciej Szczepaniak also joined this great rally fiesta. The championship-winning crew and the entire ORLEN Rally Team prepared a real surprise for the fans, starting in a WRC car. The Citroën C3 WRC was serviced by the Italian D-Max Racing team.
After Friday’s warm-up, which did not count towards the overall classification, Saturday’s schedule consisted of nine special stages. The crews faced three runs three tests: Polanica-Zdrój (5.10 kms), the iconic Spalona (5.40 kms) and the equally famous Zieleniec-Duszniki (6.30 kms). Kajetanowicz and Szczepaniak decided to show the capabilities of one of the fastest rally cars ever built. Equipped with a huge aerodynamic package, Citroën sped along the roads of the Kłodzko Valley, thrilling the fans alongside the special stages. Kajto and Maciek won all the stages contested that day, including the final test, where in several places they thanked the fans for their support by performing spectacular donuts.
We were driving a space car, with space livery, in a space atmosphere. We would like to thank the fans, it was a really great rally fiesta. We knew before the event that it would be really special but we did not expect such a fantastic atmosphere. During event of this kind, the result is not that important. For me the most important thing is that I could be here, that I could bring such a car, have fun with it and, hopefully, entertain the fans as well. Sometimes we drove very fast, sometimes we were sliding – exactly how I wanted it to be. I just wanted to take it easy. I have not had this feeling for a long time, I don’t even remember the last time. When you compete in the World or European championships, you have to take a lot of things into account. Here, good fun was the most important thing to have and it really happened. Thank you to everyone who came, including the rally organisers. Thanks to the whole team who also supported me. At the beginning I had a hard time with this car but then I got better. I think that if I were to compete in this rally now, I would drive much quicker – especially in the fast sections, where this car works best, as it is more difficult in tighter parts. We already knew this after the Barbórka Rally, when we drove a similar car. It was hard to rotate it in slow corners. This car is over twenty centimeters wider than the Rally2 machine, so it is tougher in tight sections. But it is a firecracker in fast parts. The faster the better, so that’s what we enjoy
